An Australasian company with long-lasting expertise on field has developed a new CH4-Methane Generating Reactor for several potential fields of application
The technology is a registered trademark with the World Intellectual Property Organization and was recently showcased by WIPO in Asia as being a leading green technology to implement sustainable solutions for greenhouse gas emission reductions at scale.
The technology has been fully developed and implemented in Asia with examples that include liquid volumes up to 145,000 m3 and biogas outputs of 17.5 MW thermal for starch waste.
The technology can be applied in different sectors from edible and palm oil mills to sugar refineries, from alcohol distilleries to food processing plants and from animals' farms to abattoirs, and from waste treatment plants to Petrochemical refineries
SMEs and industries interested to adopt such a technology are sought for a commercial agreement with technical assistance in order to adapt it to their existing or new plants


Advantages and Innovations

The proposed CH4-Methane Generating Reactor is a highly engineered in-ground anaerobic digester and Innovations include the digester's ability to receive very high strength and very high volumes of industrial waste and wastewater. The high volume digester allows long retention times that permit secondary breakdown of residual organic compounds. Organic loadings are reduced by 95% within the CH4-Methane Generating Reactor digester. Other innovations include the premixing of anaerobic sludge with incoming waste and the sequential automated distribution of organic load throughout the digester sludge blanket. The digester cover is engineered to provide a high level of safety in high winds.

The main advantage over conventional anaerobic digesters is the significantly lower capital cost.
Other advantages includes

• Overall enhanced process stability makes it easy to meet effluent limits on a consistent basis.

• Pesticides have been proven to be completely decomposed with the digester.
• Aromatic hydrocarbons, aromatic alcohols, and polyester type hazardous liquid wastes are received and digested by the CGR. Other similar wastes are tested for biodegradability before ascertaining their suitability for digestion in the CGR.
